Therefore, it is recommended to use putty powders with higher hardness.
2、The primer was not applied, or the primer was of poor quality and did not perform its function.
The primary function of the primer is to neutralize alkalinity, preventing it from penetrating the substrate and affecting the surface appearance. It also seals and strengthens the putty layer by penetrating the substrate, creating a bond between the putty and the topcoat. If the primer fails to properly bond the putty, it loses this fundamental function, and the intermediate and imitation stone coatings may detach from the wall.
3、Apply primer to the putty powder before it dries, or apply the second coat of paint to the first coat before it dries.
The drying time of the putty powder depends greatly on the prevailing weather conditions. If the weather is favorable and the humidity is low, the putty powder will dry faster. Conversely, in unfavorable weather conditions (around 25°C), it may take longer to dry. In good weather, it is generally possible to apply and level the putty powder once a day, and it typically takes three days to complete the drying process before sanding and painting. This process requires patience; it is essential to allow the putty powder to dry completely before sanding and painting.
The drying time for the primer and topcoat needs to be adjusted based on actual weather conditions. In rainy or humid weather, the drying time should be extended accordingly. Typically, after applying the primer, you can apply the first coat of paint 3 to 4 hours later. The first coat should dry for 2 to 3 hours before applying the second coat.
