One, how to adjust the color of wood paint
1、When mixing colors, exercise caution and precision. Generally, start by testing a small sample to determine the initial quantity of paint to be used. Then, based on the results of the small sample, prepare the larger batch. First, mix the secondary and tertiary colors separately in small containers.
2. First, add the main color (the color with a large proportion and low tinting strength in the color mix). Then, gradually and intermittently add the darker color (or the color mix with strong tinting strength), while continuously stirring and observing the color changes.
3. "From shallow to deep," especially when adding strongly pigmented paints, should be applied sparingly.
Two. Wood paint color matching and application methods

1、Wood paint color adjustment method
Following the color samples, first prepare small samples for testing, then compare them with the samples to determine the number of colors for the mixed paint. Subsequently, separately fill each color with the prepared paint, first measuring the gross weight, then using it for color matching. After the color matching is complete, measure again. The difference in weight during this second measurement represents the weight of each color used, which serves as a reference for mixing large batches. During the color mixing process, slowly add each color while continuously stirring and monitoring. Avoid over-mixing, gradually increasing the color depth until the desired shade is achieved.
2、Method for applying wood paint
The construction process for wood coatings includes two methods: clear coat application and oil-based mixed coating application.
Clear coat application process: First, apply coloring oil or tinted oil. Then, brush the clear coat to protect the finished panel and wood edges. If applying a clear coat to maintain the original color, the surface must be cleaned and the first layer of "clear coat protection" must be applied immediately after the materials are delivered to the construction site.
The oil-based application process involves first cleaning the wood surface of dust and debris. Then, apply a full coat of atomic putty to the wood surface, allowing it to dry completely. After drying, sand the surface and apply the first coat of paint, repairing any imperfections. Allow this coat to dry completely, then sand again and apply the second coat of paint. Repeat the sanding process, and finally apply the third coat of paint. Generally, two to three coats of oil-based paint are recommended.
