One、How to handle joints in fire-resistant boards
There are three methods for joining fire-resistant panels: butt joint, recessed joint, and edge joint. The butt joint is the most commonly used method, and can be processed according to the following procedure:

1、When installing fire-resistant boards, appropriate gaps should be left at the joints, and the edges of the joints must be flush. After cleaning the soil within the joints, apply one coat of a 50% concentration of 108 adhesive solution.
2. Use a small scraper to embed the joint putty into the joint, ensuring the joint is completely filled and flush with the slope. After the putty has dried, check the joint for any cracks. If cracks appear, analyze the cause and re-fill the joint.
3. Apply approximately 1mm thick putty powder at the joint groove, then adhere the fiberglass mesh, and press firmly to level it.
4、When the putty begins to solidify but is still in a wet state, apply another layer of putty to embed the fiberglass and fill the seams, ensuring a smooth finish.
Two. The required gap for fire-resistant board installation
When installing fire-resistant boards, there must be a gap between the boards. The specific size of this gap can be determined based on the local environment. If the environment is humid, the gap should be slightly larger, approximately 500mm. If the environment is dry, the gap can be smaller, approximately 300mm. It is recommended to consult with experienced contractors for specific guidance.
