Method:

Two. Why does the wood shaving putty not detach?
For non-cementitious substrates such as wood, metal, and composite panels (e.g., particleboard, MDF, solid wood), applying ready-mixed putty paste directly can lead to detachment after approximately 3 months due to differences in surface expansion/contraction and the substrate's high water absorption rate. This is because standard, rigid interior putty pastes cannot accommodate these changes. It is recommended to use two-part or specialized putty pastes specifically designed for composite panels.
If putty exceeds its shelf life, its bonding strength will decrease, leading to detachment. The solution is to use the putty within its shelf life, and pay attention to production date and shelf life information when purchasing.
III. Surface Treatment of Plywood
The first step is typically applying a full coat of putty as a base. This involves covering the panel.
The second step involves carefully sanding the dried putty powder with fine-grit sandpaper. The purpose of sanding the putty powder is to smooth out any raised particles or uneven areas on the surface.
The third step involves applying paint to the surface of the applied putty powder. At this stage, various paints suitable for furniture can be used.
